IMPORTANT EXAM REVISION/PREPARATION RESOURCES

I have asked the different faculties at school to share links to exam revision / preparation documents with me so that they can all be centralized here. These should be extremely useful in helping the students realize their full potential in the end of Year exams.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind students and parents that these exams should be seen as an opportunity for students to see where they are in their learning and what areas they could improve in. The process of sitting the exams itself is also very important as this gives the students insight into the expectations and protocol of formal exams so that they are better prepared for the IGCSE's in the coming years. Students who have entered GIS in Term 3 of Year 9 WILL NOT be expected to sit the end of year exams. During the exam sessions, new students will be given activities to help identify which topics they need additional support with.

Chemistry Revision Resources

Mr Netcher (Head of Chemistry) has just shared a number of very helpful revision resources with all of the Year 9 students. This should be an excellent resource to use in the preparations for the end of year exams. There will be more material added to this over the next week or so. There is link to the resource below:

Year 9 Internal Examinations

Today the Year 9 students were given their timetables for the upcoming internal exams. I have attached these details below too. In fact, a large number of our students have already started their IGCSE exams this term with language oral exams happening last week. This will obviously be a challenging time for most students and to help support Year 9, I have planned a number of activities for tutor times to help them prepare for and cope with the exams. Each Year 9 group will be given advice on making an effective/realistic revision plan, reminded of the different strategies that they can use to revise and also have sessions that give advice on coping with the stress induced by exams.

If any students or parents have further concerns or would like additional advice, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kindest Regards, Dr. Browning
